PATTERN NO. 2 is the second in a series of books for which artists and thinkers are invited to create, collect or converse about pattern making. Reynolds, an artist currently based in Georgia, documents personal/emotional mythologies and how these ultimately translate as abstractions, both organic and mathematic. The small gesso and acrylic paintings for the book are grounded in symmetry and pattern, yet are made with a process that emphasizes a free hand and a point of departure that is free of association.
